A modern facility with highly skilled care for you and your baby! We offer a wide variety of services in our OB Department. Your birthing experience will include one-on-one nursing care by a Registered Nurse with specialized training. There is a hot tub available for your use and comfort during the labor process. We also provide 24-hour anesthesia service with many aspects of pain control.
Our beautiful OB suites offer both comfort and privacy, which we know is so important during this special time in your life. Bright Beginnings Birthing Center offers you the choice of rooming-in, where you keep the baby in your room with you. We feel it is important for you to learn your babies cues an we encourage your partner to stay with you and baby.
We are a certified High5 for Mom & Baby hospital where we promote breastfeeding right after birth. We have educated breastfeeding advocates here to help you and provide one-on-one care.
CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that babies recieve nothing but breastmilk for 6 months of age or longer. At Republic County Hospital we want to promote mothers to continue to breastfeed after dismissal and to help our community provide ways to help. Our Breastfeeding Loan/rental program currently has 3 hospital grade breast pumps available for mothers use after discharge. Mothers who deliver in the hospital may use the pumps free of charge, and mothers who deliver outside of RCH may rent the hospital grade pump for $100 with $25 return once brought back, this includes the pump kit. Child Birth Education
We also offer free childbirth education classes to expectant women and their coaches three times a year. This gives you the opportunity to prepare for your delivery, to meet our staff, and to help you deal with the unknown factors that come along with pregnancy, and will give you the information and resources needed to make decisions.

Breast Feeding Support
Republic County Hospital Obstetrics Department is devoted to providing mothers and their newborn babies with support and education they need to be successful at breastfeeding and any other questions that arise during their pregnancy and postpartum.
We have periodic breastfeeding support groups. Come join us the second Saturday of every month at 10:00 a.m. in the Board Room of Republic County Hospital! Feel free to come with your kids! Call the hospital and ask for Angie or Debbie if you have questions!

Respiratory Care Services
At some point in most people’s lives, they will encounter a health problem facilitating the need for surgery. At the Republic County Hospital, we are able to provide for your scheduled surgical procedures as well as those unexpected emergencies. With our two operating suites, our pre/post anesthesia care unit, and our 24-hour on call specially-trained staff we will provide for your surgical needs.
With our team of Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Trauma Nurse Core certified registered nurses, scrub technicians, anesthetists, central sterilizing technician, and eight physicians who do surgical procedures on a regular basis, we are able to provide care for pediatric to geriatric patients. Whether you are having an outpatient procedure or one requiring admission to the hospital for an inpatient stay, our surgery staff will work with you to meet your healthcare needs. Our staff meets with each patient before surgery to review their health history and previous surgical experiences. We also provide education so that you know what to expect before and after your surgical procedure, and how long your expected stay will be at the Republic County Hospital.

Anesthesia services are provided by Dr. Robert Holt and several Certified Nurse Anesthetists, including Tracy Holsing and Bob Beckman. Services range from conscious sedation, to general and spinal anesthetic, as well as epidural blocks. Epidural steroid injections are also provided for the management of back pain. Prior to any procedure requiring anesthesia, one of the RCH providers will conduct an evaluation to determine the best form of anesthesia for your needs. They will also discuss with you any concerns that you may have.
Republic County Hospital respiratory care therapists evaluate, treat and care for patients with breathing disorders, on a one-on-one basis, with sensitivity to the physical and psychological needs of the residents of North Central Kansas and South Central Nebraska.
The Blood Gas Laboratory Services is CLIA Certified.
Respiratory Patient Care Services:
Patient care services performed by RCH Respiratory Therapists treat all types of patients, ranging from newborns to elderly people. RCH RTs provide temporary relief to patients with chronic asthma or emphysema and emergency care services to inpatients, outpatients and nursing home residents. RCH Respiratory Care department also offers the extended services of 24 hour Holter monitoring, pulmonary function testing, arterial/venous blood gas, also have a Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program and RT staff also work with Cardiac Rehabilitation patient. Respiratory Therapist assist with all obstetrical deliveries, and assisting with all obstetrical deliveries including immediate neonatal assessment and care. RT staff is also in attendance of code blue and ventilator patients.

The RCH RT is headed by Dr. Goertzen and the Blood Gas Laboratory is headed by RCH Laboratory Services Supervisor and Director. Other personnel consist of four full-time therapists.
The Respiratory Care is a 24-hour in-house department operating seven days a week. Our regular hours are from Sunday to Saturday 7:00a.m.-7:00p.m. After hours coverage is provided by on-call therapists.
RCH Respiratory Care implements various modalitites to help facilitate the treatment of certain lung diseases and to achieve the highest performance level for patients on a daily living basis. These modalities include:

Republic County Hospital strives to give good quality of care to patients in obtaining specimens, giving accurate test results, and meeting the needs of the patients we serve. The Laboratory is CLIA Certified.
Patient Care Services
Patient care services performed by RCH Laboratory shall provide testing for newborns, pediatric, juvenile, adult and geriatric patients. Categories of patient types are in-patients, out-patients that include emergency room, nursing homes, clinic and reference work.
Laboratory Staff and Hours
The laboratory is headed by a Pathologist and Medical Director. Other laboratory personnel consist of three full-time technicians, one part-time technician and a part-time secretary/receptionist. The laboratory is a 24 hour in-house laboratory operating seven days a week. Regular laboratory hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Weekend and after hours are provided by an on-call technician

The goal of the Radiology department is to provide quality and caring diagnostic imaging services to the community. The Radiology Department offers routine and advanced imaging services. We utilize digital imaging which eliminates the need for film to expedite the process of your exam and results. With digital imaging your Physician can view your results via internet and consult with other Physicians and obtain second opinions in a much timelier manner.
Radiology Department is staffed by five registered technologists and offers a full range of imaging services. Our exams are interpreted by a board certified radiologist from United Radiology Group of Salina.

Republic County Hospital Emergency Services Department is a Level 4 Trauma Center in operation 24-hours a day with registered nurses and is supported by Doctors from Republic County Family Physicians and Belleville Medical Clinic.
Our emergency staff are trained in the latest techniques and can identify many types of medical problems to react accordingly.

Digital Mammography is new at Republic County Hospital.
A digital mammogram is unique in that we are able to see the image right away rather than having a piece of film that we have to run through a processor to look at and we are able to look at the digital image on a screen and change how light or dark it is, allowing us to give you the best results. We know that digital mammograms are better for women who have dense breast tissue, are under the age of 50, or are pre-menopausal.

The Rehabilitation Services at Republic County Hospital is active in caring for patients of all ages including acute, skilled and intermediate care hospital patients, nursing home patient and outpatients. Republic County Hospital offers both inpatient and outpatient therapy services. Our therapists provide consultations, evaluations, and a variety of other treatment services, including:
Patient care services are performed in the inpatient and skilled settings and in our outpatient rehabilitation department. Services include transfer, ambulation and stair training, neuromuscular re-education, pain management, strength training, orthopedic/sports medicine rehabilitation, wound care, orthotic assessment and prosthetic training. Home Health therapy services are provided by contract through the Republic Co. Health Department.
